Our IT expertise in the palm of your hand
The concurrent new wave of innovation from SAP IBP and the mutated market conditions are pushing IT professionals to deal with additional workload and less time for an effective roadmap development. The amount of information currently available is huge, but what are the real key decisions to consider while developing a roadmap for SAP IBP?
Bizbrain Technologies created “Technical Guru”. It is a series of webinars covering topics of technical nature that will help the development of your SAP IBP roadmap, leveraging the experience of a team with more than 25 customers engagements and multiple successful productive implementations.
1. Jump-start your IBP roadmap
The current pandemic pushed organizations to structure investments delivering a quick time to value. IT organizations are now pressed to provide tools to support processes of various complexity in a short period of time yet maintaining lower cost of operations after the Go-Live. Fix scope templates may become a useful tool along with a well framed roadmap design. We will discuss how implementation options can enable the business to get a game-changing planning solution in record time while ensuring that it is sustainable and can provide a foundation for growth.
2. Recent Trends in SAP IBP Integration Design
IBP Integration is always a topic that is top-of-mind for IT professionals. We will discuss the more recent trends in Integration Design that we see are taking hold in this space. Order-based SAP IBP processes have recently provided SAP IBP customers more integrations options with SAP backend systems: the use of the Add-on in integration allows for more flexibility. When your backend system is a non-SAP system, how do you proceed with the integration? The session will outline some of the most common options to integrate with non-SAP backends.
3. Design a solution with Performance in mind.
Planning solutions need to be able to work with large amounts of data in an efficient manner. Historically, planners have relied on custom solutions in decentralized data repositories (e.g. standalone Excel files) that have very quickly reached the limit on performance capabilities. IBP can help centralize the planning data using an in-memory database that can adapt to the business requirements. While doing so, IT organizations need to consider the options available in the modeling of the IBP solution to ensure one can avoid performance pitfalls. We will discuss master data and integration design tips and tricks that are proven to help foster performance.
4. Does your IBP model ensure an acceptable cost of operation?
In our experience, rework is one of the main causes of high maintenance costs of a planning solution. Are there ways to minimize rework? We believe that a well-informed IT organization can achieve this by evaluating design considerations that are focused on reducing rework down the line. For example, is your company struggling between a global model vs the needs of regional planning process? Should all coexist in a single global planning environment or should there be a few smaller ones? If you recognize this problem, then this is a session for you.
5. Maximize business user adoption while using SAP IBP Supply.
Currently, the SAP IBP Supply optimizer supports about hundred different mathematical constraints to calculate a desired plan. How to control the design of a solution that maximizes the business user adoption? What is the experience of early adopters? The supply optimizer is controlled by a series of constraints of different types (Hard, Pseudo- Hard, Discretization) that, as they are combined in a single model, tend to increase complexity in an exponential way as they interact with each other, almost in a combinatoric fashion. Is there an expectation to execute multiple simulations in a day? How long is it acceptable to run? What is the best way for the business users to control the optimization algorithms? Our team will address these questions and share experience from productive implementation experience.
